How we do it

Acton Ice and Snow makes Snow on Location by crushing 300 pound

Ice Blocks in a Portable Ice Crusher. Our Ice Crusher is similar to a

tree chipping machine you may have seen used by tree trimming

companies except it Crushes Blocks of Ice!. 300 pound Ice Blocks are

transported by Large Refrigerated Box Trucks or Tractor-Trailer

Semis to the desired location. Our trained crew then feeds these

blocks into the Ice Crusher. The machine breaks up the blocks into

small pieces which then enter into a high speed impeller. The impeller

pulverizes the Ice Chunks into Snow and forces it out of a high

pressure discharge hose with enough force to blow the Snow 65 feet

away. Our machine and crew can crush 22 tons of Block Ice per hour

under ideal circumstances. The finished product is fluffy, soft snow.

The Estimated coverage for 1 ton of snow is 100 square feet of area, 6

inches deep. This may vary due to temperature and the type of surface it will be applied to. The minimum order is 10 tons per location.

December is the busiest month of the year and dates, especially the

first two weekends fill up fast. Don't hesitate to call and book your

event before the time you want is taken.
